Ħamrun Spartans and Ħamrun Ħanin Inspire Young Offenders Through Sports and Education

Ħamrun Spartans players and technical staff, together with volunteers from Ħamrun Ħanin, recently visited the Imtaħleb Facility for young offenders, sharing their time and experiences with the youths residing there. The initiative aimed to spread hope and highlight the power of sports in transforming lives. Whilst at the Facility, the Ħamrun players, led by Captain Steve Borg, spent precious time with the young residents, and as expected, some football time was not missing either.

Beyond football, the club is committed to making a lasting impact. As part of its Goal 4 Literacy project, Ħamrun Ħamin donated a library and a collection of books to the facility, promoting literacy and education as tools for personal growth. Encouraging a love for reading is a key part of the initiative, reinforcing the belief that knowledge and learning can open doors to new opportunities.

Ħamrun Spartans, and its social arm, Ħamrun Ħanin, expressed their gratitude to Christopher Siegersma, CEO of the Corrective Facility, for his warm welcome and support in making the visit a success.

Through community-driven efforts like this, Ħamrun Spartans continue to demonstrate that football is more than just a game—it is a platform for positive change, helping young people build a better future.
