About Us

Hamrun Hanin / About Us

01Diversity And Inclusion

The locality of Ħamrun has undergone a singificant transformation over the past decade, particularly with a diverse and multicultural migrant community making the locality its hometown. We believe that sport provides the right tools to facilitate integration and inclusion.

The community of Ħamrun is reknowned for its love of football, and despite commonperceptions, sport brings together people of different races, backgrounds and cultures. Through our activity, we seek to ensure that all members of our community are given the opportunity to participate in its daily life, and consider diversity as an enriching experience for our locality.

02Child Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a vital process that protects children and adults from harm, abuse, and neglect. Despite the progress that our society has experienced in recent years, a number of children are still deprived of basic rights. Through our activities, we strive to contribute to the physical, mental and psychosocial needs to safeguard their futures.

03Health and Well-Being

Vibrant and caring communities are vital for wellbeing. Everyone deserves to live their healthiest life. In a fast-moving society, our organisation strives to promote an active, healthier lifestyle where a regular dose of physical activity, health-eating and mental well-being are prioritised. We seek to promote a fairer and just access to such opportunities to all.

04Solidarity

Communities grow stronger and become stronger when they manage to foster what is known known as “community solidarity” – meaning that people experience a sense of belonging and feel connected to each other despite any differences.

As in any part of the world, progress is not necessarily equal – a number of people are, increasingly left behind. We seek to identify those niches within our community which need a helping hand to be able to lead a decent life which anyone within our society deserves.

05Human Rights

This foundation recognised the role of community-led approaches in ensuring that basic human rights are upheld. Through our activities, which are supported by the power of the sporting community which is cherished in the locality,  equality and human rights defenders can support each other on their mission to improve the lives of the multicultural community that share our streets.

06Environment

Children are the least responsible for climate change, yet they will bear the greatest burden of its impact. Ħamrun is a built-up town just outside the harbour area, creating additional challenges to its community. We do not expect to fend off this global phenomenon on our own but we believe in making a difference by creating awareness which in the long run is at the foundation of driving tangible change.
