Ħamrun Ħanin coordinates Spartans visit to CCF

Newly-crowned Champions Hamrun Spartans kicked-off its celebrations following the 10th Championship title with a visit to fans residing at the Corradino Correctional Facility, sharing the jubilation of their championship victory. The visit was coordinated by Ħamrun Ħanin, the social arm of the Club. This visit, which took place for the second consecutive year, reflects the organisation’s key message that every member of society deserves recognition and consideration in our society.

During the visit, Ħamrun Spartans FC President Joseph Portelli, CEO Marcel Bonnici, and Ħamrun Ħanin Chairman Ian Debattista, together with star players Joseph Mbong and Ryan Camenzuli meeting with residents from both the male and female sections of the Facility. Both Club representatives as well as the Facility inmates engaged in lively discussions and exchanged experience in what was a meaningful experience for all involved.

The players and Ħamrun Ħanin officials were warmly welcomed by Christopher Siegersma, the facility’s Director, and Svetlana Muscat, who oversees sports activities at the facility.

Ian Debattista, Chairman of Ħamrun Ħanin, elucidated that the organisation’s mission remains that of ensuring that everyone can share the joy of sport, and with the Spartans winning their 10th title, the organisation immediately thought of reaching out to vulnerable members of our society. Debattista expressed confidence that the visit would provide the Facility residents with resilience and motivation to reintegrate into society once circumstances permit.
